Katherine E. Stone

 

Katherine E. StoneKatherine E. Stone graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School in 1974. The following year she became a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California, where she represented the California Coastal Commission and the State Lands Commission in complex litigation. She has an AV rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. In 1980 she joined the firm of Burke, Williams & Sorenson and became a partner a year later. She founded Freilich, Stone, Leitner & Carlisle in 1988. She moved her practice to Ventura in 1993, where she serves as Of Counsel to the firm. She is special counsel to a variety of cities, counties, and special districts and provides expertise to state agencies, including the California Coastal Commission. She is a frequent lecturer and has published articles and numerous amicus briefs. Her expertise is in the area of environmental land use law.
