City Attorney  

MWGJS attorneys have held numerous roles in the field of municipal law. Monte L. Widders serves as the City Attorney for Ojai, and from July 1992 to December 2007, J. Roger Myers served as City Attorney for Fillmore. In 2008, Theodore J. Schneider replaced Mr. Myers as City Attorney for Fillmore.  Mr. Myers now acts as Assistant City Attorney for both Ojai and Fillmore.  Katherine E. Stone is special land use counsel to other cities throughout the state of California and other districts.

Special District Counsel

MWGJS is frequently retained as special counsel by district boards to handle specific matters that require guidance on such focused areas of law as infrastructure construction projects, public works contracting, eminent domain and special district fees and assessments. Most often we serve as general counsel, providing legal guidance with a well-grounded understanding of our special district clients' unique needs, in order to keep them operating smoothly.  A particular focus of our special counsel work is representing special districts in litigation.
